2025 Best in Ceramics / Pottery
William Hagerty of Wetmore, MI, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, threw his first pot in 1963 and in 1979 became a professional potter. His pottery is beautiful as well as functional and durable.
He also is skilled at Horsehair Raku. It took him several years to really put his own special touch to his pieces.
He has won several first place awards since starting the process and in 2023 took first place in the National VA Creative Arts Competition.
William Hagerty previously won first place at a national art show in St. Louis.
