Meet our 2020 Student Scholarship winner, Jessica Oratch.
Jessica Oratch, a recent graduate of Niagara High School, is an artist who typically paints in an abstract style. She uses palette knives to create thick, colorful strokes on usually large canvases. Jessica has won the title of “Artist of the Month” twice at Niagara, as well as an award at the Association of Student Artists (ASA) Art Show in 2019, and the ASA Scholarship this year. Jessica enjoys working in many mediums including acrylic paint, pen and ink, colored pencil, photography, and fibers- acrylic paint being her favorite.
In the fall, Jessica will attend the Milwaukee School of Engineering, where she will pursue a degree in User Experience Design and Communication Engineering. With this degree, Jessica hopes to obtain a position as a User Experience and Interface Designer. She will combine the psychological, emotional, and practical elements of a user’s understanding of a product to improve their overall experience.
